In March 2020, Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) suspended all in-person activities (including practices and competitions). As of February 2021, sports activities remain suspended. In-person events have not resumed.
In lieu of in-person events, SOTX is conducting virtual events. For example, Fall Classic and Winter Games were done as virtual competitions. And, it's likely Summer Games will also be virtual.
In addition, SOTX launched S.O. Connected. It's a series of weekly "challenges" posted on the SOTX Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages.
When we resume in-person activities, all coaches, athletes, parents and volunteers will be required to take Return to Play training before they can attend in-person events. The training is available at this time. If you would like to take it, you can access via the link on the right. Note: there are different training modules: one for athletes and another for coaches, volunteers and parents. You do not need to watch both, only the one that applies to you. After viewing the video, be sure to complete the COVID-19 Training & Participant Code of Conduct Agreement Form.
